1800 ACRES - A new play by one of our own

We are very proud to share that David Myers -- who works as Development Associate for Tashtego Films and is an accomplished alum of The Public Theater's artistic staff -- has an exciting new play opening in London.  The world premiere of 1800 ACRES runs at RIVERSIDE STUDIOS Sept 16 - Oct 12 in a production directed by Alex Helfrecht, featuring Cathy Tyson, Tobi Bakare, Tony Boncza and Mark Field.  If you're in Londo please take the opportunity to check it out.

Running away from Brooklyn to make a new start with her teenage son Linda, an affluent African-American woman, buys a ranch in West Texas. But when the original owner refuses to move out, violent physical and psychological battles ensue. Demanding his own relationship to the land, Linda's son Jacob begins a mysterious ritual in the moonlight.

Acclaimed young Texan playwright David Myers blends comedy, fantasy and tension in this original play that explores the relationship between family, history, birthright and the mystical pull of nature.
